Meet Melba, ASM's Managing Director.
Melba has spent over twenty years in rooms where decisions quietly shape how people experience their working lives. She started her first business as a teenager and went on to audit with KPMG, studied finance, then moved into the education sector, eventually leading one of Africa's top-performing international schools.
Along the way, Melba picked up a few degrees at Oxford and studied interpersonal dynamics at Stanford. Melba's career has taken her across continents, sectors, and boardrooms.
What stayed the same in every one of them was the question: Why do some environments bring out the best in their people, while others quietly wear them down?
That question is what brought Melba to ASM.
Melba has navigated corporate spaces that were not designed with her in mind. She knows what it feels like to mask, to adapt, to work twice as hard to be read correctly. That lived experience is not separate from her professional expertise. It is the foundation of it.
Melba leads with calm, clarity, and a systems-led approach. She also uses humour, often. Melba will tell you it's because she's actually a comedian.
We appreciate how she uses laughter as a tool to make difficult truths simpler to hear, and easier to act on.
We're really looking forward to sharing more of our work here. Have a look around or say hello. We would love to hear from you.
